It’s Pancake Month!
Clinton Street Baking Co. & Restaurant knows its way around a pancake. The restaurant is home to THE best blueberry pancakes in town, with juicy, fat berries and scrumptious warm maple butter on the side (my mouth is already watering. Just imagine how excruciating it was to watch this Throwdown with Bobby Flay and the Clinton Street crew…). The Clinton Street pancakes are truly an amazing experience, and I don’t even really like pancakes.
February is Pancake Month (who knew?), which means that people have carte blanche to stuff their faces. And to honor the flapjack in its special month, the place that does pancakes best is offering a Pancake Month menu. The special ‘jacks will be available Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
There’s a different pancake offered every few days. Chocolate and blood orange pancakes with candied orange glaze and warm maple butter if you go now, chocolate chunks, fresh raspberries and raspberry-caramel sauce if you go in the middle of the month, and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, crunchy bananas with cinnamon-chili-chocolate sauce at the end of the month — with plenty of other flavors in between.
Note: A town in the UK is holding a pancake-eating race later in the month to raise money for Haiti. Kudos to them for finding a philanthropic way to celebrate the month.
